About ICC (Internal Complaints Committee)

ICC

Internal Complaint Committee (ICC)

YCIS is a coeducational institution that promotes equal opportunities for all, fostering a respectful and harmonious environment for both men and women. In the event of any complaints related to inappropriate physical contact, unwanted advances, requests for sexual favors, sexually suggestive remarks, or any other unwelcome conduct of a sexual nature—whether verbal, nonverbal, or physical— the institution takes swift and appropriate action.

The Sexual Harassment Prevention Cell is dedicated to raising awareness among students and staff to actively prevent such incidents. Complaints can be filed with the Committee, which ensures that disciplinary measures are carried out in accordance with the college's rules and regulations.

What is ICC?

The POSH Act mandates that every workplace establish an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) to address and resolve cases of sexual harassment. The ICC is responsible for ensuring a safe and respectful work environment by handling complaints and taking appropriate action in accordance with the law.

The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) is established in accordance with the provisions of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal) Act, enacted on 9th December 2013, along with UGC Regulations effective from 2nd May 2016 for higher educational institutions.

Functions of the ICC

  • Prevent sexual harassment in the workplace.
  • Promote gender equality among students and employees.
  • Organize regular programs focused on women's empowerment.
  • Ensure a supportive and conducive environment for women.
