The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Yashavantrao Chavan Institute of Science, Satara (Autonomous) is established on June, 2001. The IQAC looks after the post-accreditation quality sustenance measure as prescribed by NAAC. The IQAC being an integral part of the college which works for internalization and institutionalization of quality goals by developing a system for constant and catalytic enhancement in diverse aspects of functioning of the institute. The IQAC assures the academic peers and stakeholders i.e., students, parents, teachers, staff, management, funding agencies and society in general about quality policy and their management by ensuring quality of education being imparted.
The IQAC of YCIS always step towards excellence through up-gradation of staff especially by organizing orientation, faculty development and hands-on-training programmes for faculty, administrative and technical staff of the institute. It promotes the institute for their participation in various government and non-government flagship initiatives. It schedules student centric initiatives including pedagogy, capacity building, hands on trainings etc have been conducted on regular basis. IQAC conducts teaching and non-teaching staff assessment and valuable feedback from various stakeholders for quality sustenance and improvement in curriculum, teaching, learning, infrastructure, research and overall facilities of the institute. It documents and reports various activities of the college for various higher education requirements. A continuous follow up has been made on infrastructural resources of the college to assure adequate, appropriate and ICT-enabled facilities to assure conducive and enabling environment for teaching, learning and research. IQAC always walks with the changes and updates in the higher education and accreditation and assessment processes. Through all these measures IQAC happens to be one of the important components of the college which ensures quality and continuous improvement in all the units/aspects of the institute.
